A trip into Mexico
From Douglas, you can easily take a day trip over the border into Sonora, Mexico, via the adjoining border town of Agua Prieta, and do a little shopping and sightseeing. It’s easy to walk or drive across, but be sure that all your papers are in order for the return trip into the United States, including green cards and visas; everyone, including US citizens, must carry a valid passport. Rental cars are not permitted to cross the border; if you drive your own car into Mexico, be sure to get Mexican insurance before you go, as US insurance is invalid once you leave the United States.
